First floor
The fist floor is partly for private use and partly open to the public (a back room, a salon, the library, and the terrace). Here objects from the collection are in dialogue with the salons frescoed in the mid-eighteenth century by Gioacchino Martorana and Gaspare Fumagalli, and with new artistic interventions made by contemporary artists. On this level is English artist David Tremlett’s first site-specific work, a contemporary dialogue with Fumagalli’s quadratures in the adjacent room.
